Confirmations
When Bitcoin settlement ships, Plaidly will require 6 block confirmations before marking a payment confirmed. At ~10 minutes per block this is approximately 60 minutes. This is the standard threshold recommended by most exchanges and payment processors.
For low-value payments you may accept confirming status (1 confirmation, ~10 minutes) at your own risk via the Plaidly dashboard settings.
Fees
Bitcoin fees fluctuate with mempool congestion and can range from $1 to over $50 during peak periods. Plaidly monitors the mempool and sets appropriate fee rates for sweep transactions.
Testnet (Bitcoin Testnet4)
- Faucet: https://faucet.testnet4.dev
- Explorer: https://mempool.space/testnet4
- Use the sandbox simulate endpoint for instant test confirmations
Address format
Plaidly generates native SegWit (Bech32) addresses:
bc1qar0srrr7xfkvy5l643lydnw9re59gtzzwf5mdqLegacy (1...) and P2SH (3...) addresses are also accepted for incoming payments.
Notes
- Bitcoin has the largest liquidity and broadest merchant recognition
- No smart contract support — BTC only, no stablecoins
- Transaction signing uses ECDSA with secp256k1
- UTXO model (different from Ethereum's account model)
- Plaidly generates unique receiving addresses per session for privacy
