Confirmations
When Litecoin settlement ships, Plaidly will require 6 block confirmations before marking a payment confirmed. At ~2.5 minutes per block this is approximately 15 minutes — 4x faster than Bitcoin's 60-minute standard.
For low-value payments, you may accept confirming status (1 confirmation, ~2.5 minutes) at your own risk.
Fees
Litecoin fees are very low (typically $0.001–$0.01 per transaction), making it suitable for mid-size payments where Bitcoin fees would be prohibitive.
Testnet (Litecoin Testnet)
- Faucet: https://testnet.litecoinspace.org/faucet
- Explorer: https://testnet.litecoinspace.org
- Use the sandbox simulate endpoint for instant test confirmations
Address format
Plaidly generates native SegWit (Bech32) Litecoin addresses:
ltc1qar0srrr7xfkvy5l643lydnw9re59gtzzwpqe5kLegacy (L...) addresses are also accepted for incoming payments.
Notes
- Litecoin is a Bitcoin fork with 4x faster block times and Scrypt hashing
- No stablecoin or token support — LTC only
- UTXO model (same as Bitcoin)
- MimbleWimble Extension Blocks (MWEB) enable optional privacy transactions
- Plaidly generates unique receiving addresses per session
